Project Overview
The Qingdao Transportation Investment Industry Transformation Service Center project, also known as “VERTICAL CITY,” is a three-dimensional complex designed by Dushe Design. The project aims to activate the urban areas surrounding the high-speed rail, preventing them from becoming “high-speed rail ghost towns,” by combining industrial empowerment with traffic radiation. It is set to become a modern industrial city led by a high-speed rail hub. The project takes the industrial service center as a starting point, discussing the integrated design of the station front space from an urban perspective, focusing on the compound layout of different functional types and the organic interconnection between architecture and the city.
Design Philosophy and Highlights
Urban Green Valley: The overall layout centers around the “Urban Green Valley” concept, where the site is closely connected to the high-speed rail station square through landscape axes and seamlessly interfaces with the subway line six.
Micro City: The design proposes the LINK-HUB concept, transforming the service center into a one-stop industrial driving core that includes government services, incubation offices, product display, and conference and exhibition functions.
Design Empowerment: The key design of the first development area’s buildings lies in their public nature, with sky bridges connecting the northern and southern industrial parks to facilitate quick pedestrian access to the “Industrial Service Center,” achieving a high-quality shared experience within the park.
Curtain Wall Design: In DusheDesign’s design system, the refined design of the curtain wall plays a crucial role in ensuring a high degree of design completion.
